Media giant Marvel has partnered with the Prince’s Trust to launch a three-year mentoring programme aiming to help disadvantaged young people gain a foothold in the fashion and product design industries.
As a result, nine up-and-coming designers aged 16-30 were given the chance to design Marvel-inspired products with the mentorship and technical support of members of Disney’s design, marketing and retail teams through the Prince’s Trust framework.
The London-based charity’s ambassador Sir Ben Kingsley, who was present at the launch, praised the young designers’ “creativity and skill”, adding that it was “brilliant to see Marvel supporting the next generation of talent to break into the creative industries.”
The launch marks the culmination of the programme’s first year and is focused on Avengers-themed merchandise. Products released include a gender-neutral clothing collection, apparel, accessories, stationery and a themed backpack.
All items are now available in the Disney Store and online at shop Disney across the UK and Europe.
