Banking firm Santander has released a new ad featuring long-time collaborators Ant & Dec, who play the fictional CEOs of the ‘Bank of Antandec’, giving children disastrous financial advice.

In an attempt to teach children money confidence, the comedic duo ends up giving the class a series of hilariously awful financial tips, including investing in the ‘Match Attax’ card market.

Santander has partnered with online educational platform Twinkl to give school children access to free financial learning materials in order to give them the financial skills and intelligence they will need to succeed and achieve financial health as adults.

The educational programme, named ‘The Numbers Game’ will be made available to over 30,000 schools, involving 600,000 teachers and around 8 million children aged 5 to 16.

The new campaign has been initiated as new research has revealed that over 6 in 10 British children have received no financial education during their time at school.

“The CEOs of the bank of Antandec are back on our screens, this time trying to impart their financial wisdom on children and young adults,” Santander director of marketing, Dan Sherwood said.

“But whilst their know-how only stretches to Match Attax cards, we’re already working hard with Twinkl to improve financial education for everyone by providing free, curriculum compliant resources.”

“I’d encourage anyone with young family members to download the Numbers Game learning packs and to tell friends and family to do the same.”

Please can I have a pack for my 9 year old grandson. He earns pocket money each week and this will be a great help in him deciding what to do with his money. Many thanks☺️

  • Hi I work for children’s services and have just seen your advert on tv. Is there any possibility I could order a couple of each of your learning packs please? I think they would help my colleague and I as we hold cases where financial problems are huge and come into contact with hundreds of children that come from deprived areas in north Hampshire? If you think any of your other packs we could use I would appreciate copies of those too. Thank you
