Ex-rugby international Grayson Hart’s CBD brand Puresport has raised more than £1.3 million in just five hours through a celebrity-backed crowdfunding campaign.
With backing from more than 300 investors including Scotland Rugby internationals Jonny Gray, Greig Laidlaw and Finn Russell, Puresport is set to become a global wellness brand.
The £1.3 million investment will enable the £12 million valued firm to expand into the US and Australian e-commerce markets having launched in New Zealand earlier this week – the native country of founder Grayson Hart.
“To raise £1m through crowdfunding is massive, to do so in just a few hours is mind-blowing,” Grayson said.
“What began as a means of providing a safe and natural pain management alternative has mushroomed into a holistic wellness movement that is now established in mainstream markets and we’re in the perfect position to feed that appetite.”
“It’s no secret that we want to be sold in major stores like Selfridges and Harrods, and this investment will help us on our road to achieving it.”

Celebrating the milestone, the brand hosted a two-day pop-up store on London’s Oxford Street, giving shoppers the opportunity to sample their exclusive range of supplements.
Puresport became one of the first CBD producers to gain approval for legal sale in the UK, following the introduction of Food Standards Agency regulation.
The brand has also expanded into other natural base products like mushrooms.
Since it was founded in 2018 the brand has passed £3.5 million in online sales in the UK.
