Wavemaker UK selected by online marketplace JML to handle its media account

Wavemaker UK has been selected by JML, a video marketing online marketplace, to handle all media strategy and planning across the UK.

Following a competitive pitch, the decision builds on an existing relationship between JML and Wavemaker’s Ireland office.

The news comes a month after the agency landed new media contracts with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force institutions and the NHS England brand.

According to JML, the brand favoured Wavemaker for its £11 million media account based on its ‘one agency’ approach. The firm is ‘perfectly’ positioned to take on briefs including Digital (inc, PPC), eComm and short form (standard) TV.

As part of the appointment, Wavemaker will provide JML with a ‘holistic view’ of all budgets, results and metrics, resulting in ‘effective decision making’ and media planning.

“Effective and actionable media planning has the ability to significantly increase sales,” Wavemaker UK chief investment officer, Ian Stevens, said.

JML has said that the buying power of Wavemaker’s wider network, access to data and innovative products and tools it has at its disposal also made Wavemaker stand out.

JML chief sales officer Brian Keogh added: “Previously our media planning and buying has been handled by an excellent smaller specialist agency working closely with our in house team.”

“However, as we continue to grow as a company, in a highly competitive market, we wanted to find an agency that could scale with our needs.
