Future plc appoints new VP of e-commerce

British media firm Future plc has today (8 November) announced the appointment of Rob George as its new vice-president of e-commerce.

George will step down from his role as customer and commercial director at troubled retailer McColl’s and is set to take up his new post in January 2023.

George brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked for major retailers such as Argos and Sainsbury’s.

“I’m delighted to welcome Rob to Future as VP of eCommerce. Rob has great experience working in the retail sector and will bring his wealth of knowledge to help grow our affiliate revenues and deliver the continued success of the Group,” Future plc CEO, Zillah Byng-Thorne said.

George himself added: “Future is a company I have long admired, and it’s been amazing to see this business transform into the multi-national, multi-title, multi-channel masterpiece it is now.

“I’m incredibly excited to bring my retail experience to Future, working in a new industry with a new set of opportunities.”
