Black-led arts and cultural organisation, Underexposed Arts has partnered with Neverland creative agency to launch a new cinema campaign to coincide with the release of the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever.
Building upon the organisation’s ‘The Next Gen’ campaign, which launched across out-of-home this summer, a new 30-second spot has been released to encourage people of black heritage to follow in the footsteps of pioneers and achieve their full potential. Featured prominently within the clip is the Maya Angelou quote: “I come as one, but stand as ten thousand.”

Cinema advertising firm Pearl & Dean donated prominent advertising space to the campaign, which is set to be rolled out across more than 300 cinemas nationwide over the next month – premiering alongside the latest Black Panther blockbuster.
“One of the greatest gifts you can give someone is themselves. Not only through the equity in the sharing of your truth, but moreover in the support and discovery of their own,” Underxposed Arts founder, Franklyn Rodgers said.
“At Underexposed Arts, we echo this recognition by empowering transportation to transformation through to transcendence, a journey that speaks to the autonomy of the individual in connecting to a wider social inclusion.”

Pearl & Dean has also confirmed that the film will run across specially-created mid-credit breaks within selected screenings of Wakanda Forever.
Pearl & Dean Cinemas sales director, Clare Turner added: “We are proud to promote Underexposed Arts’ ‘The Next Gen’ portraits before Black Panther Wakanda Forever.
“We know how important representation is and we hope our audiences are inspired by these powerful portraits as much as we are.”
