Cadbury has today (14 November) launched its ‘Secret Santa Postal Service’ activation for the fifth year running, inspiring people to secretly send free chocolate to their loved ones in a gesture that reflects the true spirit of the festive period.

Developed by the Mondelez-owned firm’s creative agency of record, VCCP London, the campaign will run for six weeks until Christmas Eve.

With interactive digital assets at the campaign’s heart, the activation will pop up across static and digital posters up and down the country, allowing passers-by to scan a QR code before experiencing a Christmas-themed AR experience.

A 30-second spot has also been released to support the campaign and better acquaint customers with the activation, alongside a dedicated microsite.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating another year of selfless festive giving with Cadbury Secret Santa,” Cadbury Christmas senior brand manager, Emma Paxton said.

“It is so exciting that more people than ever before will be able to become Secret Santas by sending a small gift of chocolate secretly to someone special, especially this year where more people are in need of a little lift than ever before.”

Customers will be able to choose from a wide variety of Cadbury items to send to their friends and loved ones, including Cadbury’s original Cadbury Dairy Milk bar, alongside Oreo, Caramel, Whole nut, Fruit and Nut and Plant bars as well as a selection of products from the winter range such as Cadbury Dairy Milk Mini Snowballs bar and Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland bar.

VCCP London creative director, Angus Vine added: “Cadbury Secret Santa is a real Christmassy magical labour of love so we’re all buzzing that people can now access it from anywhere in the country.

“Walking to the shops, standing at a bus stop, wherever you see one of our posters you can get inside the postal service and send someone some secret free chocolate. Merrrrrry Christmas!”
