Motorway has appointed Rachael Halliday to the newly-created role of brand marketing director.
Halliday has held various marketing leadership roles at Sky TV, Now TV, Red Bull, General Motors (GM) and Royal Caribbean.
According to the used car marketplace, she will be tasked with “owning and evolving the company’s brand platform and developing go-to-market strategies and brand campaigns”.
The hire comes as Motorway looks to expand its proposition, 12 months after it attained ‘unicorn’ status with a £750 million valuation.

“I’m thrilled to be joining such a pioneering business which combines best-in-class technology and innovation with real customer focus,” Halliday said.
“Motorway has had an incredible year and I’m looking forward to joining the team to accelerate that growth in 2023 and beyond.”
The news comes days after the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned a Motorways ad that made unsubstantiated comparative claims. Used car rival, We Buy Any Car, challenged whether a claim that sellers could get up to £1,000 more if they sold through Motorways was misleading.
