Hamleys unveils timeless 2022 Christmas campaign by VCCP

Toy retailer Hamleys has today (14 December) launched its 2022 Christmas campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the extensive range of festive in-store experiences it has to offer.

Developed by VCCP London, the campaigns marks the first piece of work produced by the agency since securing the Hamleys account earlier this year.

Promotional assets will be focused around tapping into the seasonal excitement surrounding the run-up to Christmas and the joy that can be found in spending quality time with loved ones.

The integrated campaign will run nationwide across out-of-home, social media, and targeted press pushes local to Hamleys’ stores in London, Glasgow and Oxford, alongside an out-of-home takeover at Winter Wonderland.

“There aren’t many brands that everyone absolutely adores, but Hamleys is definitely one of them,” VCCP London creative directors, Elias Torres and Daniel Glover-James said.

“The opportunity to work with them was a gift. We didn’t need to be told about the magic and joy a Hamleys visit brings, we knew all too well from having taken our own children there many times!”

The creative revolves around the time-honoured trope of a child’s face pressed up against a window in excitement, with various tongue-in-cheek taglines featured such as: “Welcome to the most incredible Christmas experience, But not until 10am. Sorry” and “Just wait until you get inside.”
