Discount grocer Lidl is currently reviewing its UK social media, influencer and community management account with incumbent We Are Social declining to re-pitch according to Campaign.
The London agency has worked with Lidl for close to three years, having initially secured the account in summer 2020 after ousting DentsuX.
With consultancy AAR having been appointed to handle the review process for the German retailer, four agencies are said to be vying for the account.

“We are incredibly grateful to We Are Social for the work that they have delivered for us over the past few years and thank everyone on the team,” a Lidle spokesperson said.
We Are Social had been tasked with defining Lidl’s overarching social media and community management communications strategy alongside developing content for its social media channel. The agency recently worked on the social media strategy for the flagship ‘Lidl Bear’ Christmas campaign.
We Are Social chief executive, Jim Coleman added: “In the past three years we’ve helped Lidl establish itself as a culturally relevant brand on social media, growing its community and gaining national fame across all channels. We’re really proud of the work and progress that’s been made, and would like to thank our clients at Lidl and our team for such a great partnership.”
