The out-of-home (OOH) cheekily challenges shoppers to buy one-of-a-kind vintage décor, declaring that they are ‘better than flat pack’.

One billboard features an obvious tongue-in-cheek dig at furniture retailer giant Ikea, poking fun at the difficulties associated with assembling flatpack.

Interior’s billboard warns against the ‘fast furniture’ nature of the Swedish brand, reading “No Swedish Meatballs. No Instructions. No Divorce.”

The campaign aims to shine a light on the stark contrast between homeware giants focused on mass production and the abundance of throwaway flat-pack pieces vs. sustainable, stylish and second-hand alternatives.

Other billboards feature text that reads, “You’re better than flat-pack”, “Prove you’re not boring” and “Put the rest of your home to shame”.

Alongside the OOH, Vinterior has launched their new ‘re-sale platform’ – a sustainable way for consumers to buy and sell furniture.

The platform follows in the wake of research conducted by the retailer that shed light on a culture of wasteful and over-consumption within the homeware industry.

Vinterior’s report revealed Brits waste on average eight days building flat pack furniture – the figures also showed that nearly 10 million tons of furniture ended up in landfills in 2018.Pre-loved online furniture marketplace Vinterior is saying goodbye to 'fast furniture' in a campaign embracing furniture that 'lasts for generations', depicted here.
