Local service marketplace Airtasker is channelling a 90’s ‘Yeahtasker’ feeling in its latest advert with an aim to make the brand a household name in the UK.

Created by Mr. President and directed by Mr Yankey, the playful advert positions skilled ‘Taskers’ as ”legends’, and are designed to deliver a ‘winning’ feeling.

The 30-second TVC shows the protagonist, Dan, using Airtasker to aid him in storing all his much-loved 90s nostalgia – booking a Tasker, Rosie, to help him build a flatpack den.

Den competed, the advert shows Dan and Rosie dancing before he then takes inspiration and posts about all the other tasks he would like to be completed.

Showcased across multiple touchpoints – such as owned, earned and paid marketing channels – the creative will also be aired during The Great British Bake Off and Jamie Oliver’s new show, in an aim to target the brand’s key audience.

The campaign follows in the wake of Airtasker’s partnership with Channel 4 Ventures, with a £3.5 million ‘media for equity’ investment.

“We went through a pitch process and were fortunate to work with great agency partners to launch a new brand platform,” said Airtasker vice president of brand, Angeline Lee.

“The “Airtasker Yeahtasker” campaign takes inspiration from the insight that your home should be a place of undeniable joy, which Airtasker can help you build… even when it’s assembling a 90s den. It’s the perfect balance of showcasing the DNA of our brand.”

“With this campaign, along with the Channel 4 Ventures media partnership, we’re ready to scale Airtasker in the UK market. Let’s do this!”

Mr President executive creative director, Jon Gledstone said: “We wanted to show that with Airtasker, you can get people to do any task you want doing.

“Deep cleaning carpets, sure. Trimming hedges, obviously. Building a wooden den that people would assume is for your kids but is actually 100% just for you to fill with all of that 90s memorabilia that your wife and social conventions urge you to throw away but you refuse to because that was the best goddamn time of your life?

“Yeah, that too. Getting the chance to team up with Airtasker on this brilliant campaign has been an absolute blast (from the 90’s past).”
