Christmas has come early with McDonald’s as it becomes the latest brand to join the faux out-of-home (FOOH) trend with its new festive ad.
Developed by Red Consultancy and in partnership with Pebble Studios, ‘Festive Wins’ features a fleet of festive baubles driving through London’s Oxford Circus.
The campaign also depicts bursting McDonald’s burger boxes outside the Bullring, Birmingham, and celebratory Christmas crackers along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
Supporting the trumping of Christmas light switch-ons across the country, the campaign is also accompanied by a ‘Festive Wins’ calendar.
‘’Nothing says, ‘It’s Christmas’ like a giant fleet of festive baubles and our iconic burger boxes bursting with decorations,’’ said McDonald’s UK, head of consumer communications and partnerships, Louise Page.

“‘Festive Wins’ is one of our most generous promotions to date, and we wanted to mark its arrival through one of the hottest trends in marketing.
“We hope customers are as ready to embrace the festive season as much we are and will get involved over the next 30 days by heading to the McDonald’s app.’’
The fast-food chain’s recent campaign comes amid other brands trialling FOOH. Earlier this year, Gymbox faced a backlash after critics labelled its faux bus advert as misleading and lacking transparency.
