Hair styling brand Mark Hill Hair has teamed up with ‘Taylor Swift’ in a tongue-in-cheek PR stunt to launch its new limited-edition product.

Yet fans of the superstar will be sure to do a double take upon the realisation that Mark Hill Hair’s Taylor is in fact a member of the UK public with the same name.

The cheeky marketing tactic from Mark Hill Hair is designed to endorse the brand’s new ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’ product – the range named after the singer’s 2022 chart-topping song.

Despite the hair brand’s latest brand ambassador now just being a ‘guy from Uxbridge’, Mark Hill Hair has still released a campaign celebrating the brand’s social content.

Showcased across brand-owned social channels, the campaign embodies looks from 11 eras and albums of Taylor Swift and utilises influencer activity.

The campaign aims to save the brand millions in sponsorship, while still catching the attention of both hair and beauty fans, and Swifties.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce the latest colourway of our best-selling Pick ‘n’ Mix product,” said Mark Hill Hair marketing direct, Gemma Montgomery-Dickens.

“To launch it we wanted to enlist the help of another best-seller but budget constraints meant we had to rethink.

“Instead, we found a member of the public fortunate enough to share the same name as the biggest pop star on the planet, and together we’ve teamed up on the cheeky launch of our Lavender Haze launch.”

It is not the first time Mark Hill Hair has unveiled an eyebrow-raising campaign. Earlier this year the brand took to London to reassure passers-by that its latest head-turning creative was ‘not a sex toy’.
