Channel 4 has named 4Creative’s managing director, Katie Jackson as its interim CMO in the run-up to Zaid Al-Qassab’s impending departure at the end of this month.

With recruitment for a permanent CMO currently ongoing, Jackson was given the role on 4 March and will report in to the broadcaster’s chief executive, Alex Mahon.

Having announced his departure in January during a period of significant upheaval for Channel 4, in which it announced hundreds of impending job cuts amid a string of high-profile departures, Al-Qassab will now join creative agency M&C Saatchi as its new chief executive.

On being unveiled as M&C Saatchi’s new CEO last month, Al-Qassab said:“I have long admired M&C Saatchi’s creativity and industry-leading work and I am delighted to be joining one of the most recognised advertising brands in the world.

“I believe M&C Saatchi has a unique growth opportunity, capitalising on its combination of advertising and specialist marketing services, and its unrelenting focus on creative solutions built on client understanding, with an agile, global, integrated offer.”

4Creative’s executive creative director Lynset Atkin will temporarily assume leadership of the in-house agency, working in partnership with director of production Miketta Lane.
