Towie star Pete Wicks is starring in a Saltburn-style spoof video for Sky Mobile to mark 1 May, which has been revealed as the day Brits are most in danger of being dumped.

The video show the Essex Casanova instructing the nation to end their relationships by text, as he takes on a role as a relationship consultant, recreating Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan‘s shirtless balcony scene.

Describing himself as ‘Cupid’s Nemesis’ and ‘Concierge of the Heartbreak Hotel’, Wicks  describes the ease of switching mobile networks to Sky Mobile.

With a new tattoo reading “heartbreaker” across his face, he smashes a statue with a baseball bat and reclines in a bath filled with small lovehearts.

The video ends with Wicks saying “Simple text to switch. No hassle. No drama”, with the tattoo revealed as temporary and a metaphor for how easy it is to switch network providers.

It comes as Sky Mobile research reveals May 1 as the day that most Brits would end a relationship, with seven in ten describing spring as the best time to start afresh and 69% citing May as the optimal month ahead of summer.

Over half said they had experienced being dumped in the months leading up to summer.

Connectivity managing director Amber Pine said: “The first of May symbolises new beginnings and fresh starts. Just as Brits get ready for a summer of fun, it’s the perfect time to text-to-switch to something better for you.”

It comes as Sky Mobile is offering a new set of deals throughout the month of May, with up to half off on selected plans.

Earlier this month the network provider stopped working amid an internet outage.
